Actor Sonu Sood has been awarded the reputed SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on 28th September 2020 in a virtual ceremony. He has received the award as he extended his hand selflessly for sending many migrants and students across various states to their homes.
He has also provided free medical facilities and education to young children and provided free employment opportunities to those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19 pandemic. Sonu Sood has joined celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Leonardo DiCaprio, David Beckham, Emma Watson, Cate Blanchett, Nichole Kidman, Antonio Banderas, Priyanka Chopra and Liam Neeson who have been conferred by different UN bodies in a similar fashion.
