RVCJ’s Wrong Number web series casts Apoorva Arora as Khushi, Ambrish Verma as Karan, Badri Chavan as Shukla and Anjali Barot as Ruchi. It is written by Tatsat Pandey and directed by Sumit Kumar. Remember one of the stupidest movies of the 2000s, Mujhse dosti karogi, starring Rani Mukherjee and Hrithik Roshan? Do they keep emailing each other not knowing what the other person looked like? Wrong Number web series will remind you of the movie in parts.
Wrong Number web series is about Khushi, a medical student who is still not over her ex-boyfriend Rajat and keeps spamming his number with messages, unaware that he has changed his number. The two have apparently not been on talking terms since their break up, but that does not stop Khushi from texting him daily. The number Khushi has, has now been purchased by a boy named Karan who then receives the plethora of messages she had been sending on it for Rajat.
So, now, technically, Khushi has a wrong number and that is the hilarious premise and connection of her’s and Karan’s life. Wrong number season 1 is a small series of three episodes, the plot is entertaining and the actors have done a good job.
Now that confused 2nd year engineering student, Karan is bombarded with messages from Khushi (who he does not know at all) on his ‘new’ number, he is faced with the question of ‘what to do?’ And now that the long undelivered messages get delivered to ‘Rajat’s’ number Khushi has new hope. Karan’s friend Badri suggests him to talk to Khushi as Rajat… what follows is something you have seen in movies like Andaz Apna Apna.
For a web series, this short, Wrong number season 1 does a decent job. Given that it came around late December 2019, it has very good viewership varying between 3-5 million views.
