Dice Media’s Adulting revolves around the lives of women. Brochara Web Series might remind viewers of Timeliners’ Stags where the story revolves around the lives of men- their relationships with each other, their professional and personal lives.
The 5-episode Brochara Web Series has Dhruv Sehgal who you might remember from ‘Little Things’; he plays Dhiren- Mr Perfectionist. Amey Wagh who plays, Kanan- Mr Puppy Love.
Varun Tewari plays Pranay- Mr Safe and Amit Sharma who you might remember from ‘The Office’ remake plays Shivashish- Mr Got Your Back. It is directed by Simarpreet Singh.
Brochara Web Series is set in Mumbai and revolves around the life of four men who have one thing in common- all have long-distance relationships. The show explores the male-bond, how these bros try to keep each other afloat, their struggles at their workplaces- all in a light-hearted manner. The series manages to find the right balance between emotion and comedy. It is relatable in parts and the characters keep Brochara Season 1 grounded.
Even though the four friends have an overarching chemistry, we do not see any of that in their individual equation. A one to one relation among them almost does not exist.
The Brochara Season 1 episodes will keep most people entertained as the banter between the four friends in fun, but there is hardly any depth to the plot.
Characters seem shallow and in want of layers- in an attempt to stick their personas (like Mr Perfectionist) they fail to be multi-faceted. Even though you might relate to some incidents and situations, one does not end up relating to or feeling for the individual characters.
The writing is not as good as other Dice Media shows like Little Things and What The Folks.
