Diljit Dosanjh & Kriti Sanon starrer Rom-Com is a Surefire Rib-tickler.
Director Rohit Jugraj has managed a casting coup with his latest offering Arjun Patiala. The comedy-drama brings together three actors who are not only known for their acting talent but for their incredible comic timing as well – Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma.
The spoof comedy has fans waiting for it earlier ever since its first poster was launched. And the excitement for the movie has been at a high since its trailer came out, promising a fun roller coaster ride to the audience. Set in Punjab, Arjun Patiala has Diljit Dosanjh playing a police officer, while Kriti Sanon is playing a scoop-hungry crime reporter. Joining them is the Fukrey actor, Varun Sharma, who is playing Diljit’s sidekick.
Diljit Dosanjh has so far only played either serious or romantic characters in Bollywood films, be it Udta Punjab, Phillauri or Soorma. But the actor is known for his comedy movies in Punjab cinema, including Jatt & Juliet and Sardaarji series. In Arjun Patiala, he will be seen as a small town, quirky cop whose rib-tickling antics will land him in some difficult situations at times. Arjun Patiala is Diljit’s second release of the year. He was earlier seen the big screen in Punjabi film Shaada that released in June. Same goes for the leading lady Kriti Sanon, who was seen in another rom-com Luka Chuppi earlier this year.
Arjun Patiala’s music has been reigning on the charts thanks to its peppy, party numbers, like Main Deewana Tera and Crazy Habibi Vs Decent Munda. Both the songs have been written and sung by Guru Randhawa. The third track from the album is again a catchy number, Sip Sip, which is a perfect song to groove to. The album also has a romantic song Sachiya Mohabbatan sung by Sachet Tandon, a melodious number picturised on Diljit and Kriti. With three great party tracks, Arjun Patiala’s album is definitely something you will be grooving too for a long time.
Arjun Patiala has left the audiences intrigued with its trailers, songs and fresh pairing. The spoof-style trailer is definitely something new for Bollywood fans. And the film sure looks like a wholesome family entertainer, which will leave the moviegoers in splits.
