Where Josh Triumphs Over Historic Accuracy,

The Forgotten Army is streaming on Amazon Prime. It is directed by ace filmmaker Kabir Khan and is based on the formation of Indian National Army which fought for independence under the leadership of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The Forgotten Army Review is about telling a history which is very difficult as history cannot be told exactly.

The story keeps on moving from the past and present. Colonel Sodhi, who has now grown old visits his relatives and the relative’s son is very annoyed as his room is given to Sodhi. As the son comes to know of Sodhi’s history he keeps on getting impressed and feels proud that his relative has fought for the country’s independence.

Azaadi ke Liye Review is all about understanding the real history of India and its independence. Today, in schools we are taught about foreign history but there are small paragraphs which describe Indian history. Students are never taught about Netaji or Indian National Army as Britishers in olden times spread rumours that Indian National Army is a traitor army and none of its soldiers fought for independence.

This mini web series might have flaws but it is a great eye-opener for those who do not know who the real heroes were. The soldiers of the Indian National Army fought selflessly for the nation and laid down their lives without a second thought. They knew that they might not become popular but still they have that spirit of patriotism which made them fight till their last breath.

The series draws you to itself from the very beginning and keeps you hooked till the very end. You are always curious to know what is going to happen next and what course of action will be taken. The situations in which the past and present are more or less similar. In the past, we see that the army is trying to free the country from British enslavement.

Coming to the present, we witness student protests taking place in Burma and Amar wants to shoot photos there as he is studying journalism and can do anything for a good photo. Colonel Sodhi is reminded of his love Maya Srinivasan whom he meets in Singapore. She is a photographer by profession and can do anything for getting good photos.

Despite the parents protest in both past and present we see that Maya and Amar defy all odds and travel around for the photos. The story gets collaborated when Colonel Sodhi’s visits Janki’s school who was actually Maya only to find her dead. The web series ends with Colonel Sodhi sending Amar and his friends to the border and dies on the spot where most of the Indian National Army soldiers died.

The web series has power-packed performances by all the actors including Sunny Kaushal, Shorvari, Shruti Seth, Sushma Seth, Bijou Thaangjam and M.K. Raina among others. The web series is bound to give you goosebumps and raise the spirit of patriotism.
