Taish Review: Pulkit Samrat, Jim Sarbh’s Revenge Drama is Nothing You’ve Not Seen Before.

Taish gives us a stylish, timely and important life lesson that rage brings more rage and revenge is never the solution to any problem. The story revolves around an angry Sunny Lalwani featuring Pulkit Samrat who crosses paths with a Southall based gangster Kuljinder played by Abhimanyu Singh which leads to the changing of lives of all those people related to them in the movie.

Taish Review starts with two families who are influential in their own manner and live in London. One of the families have a large bungalow and is a clan of doctors with the surname Kalras while the other has crime running in its veins and is stuck in an internal fight between love and common issues.

The younger son of Kalras Krish played by Ankur Rathee is going to get married to his long time girlfriend Mahi featuring Zoa Morani and the family looks for a bride for the elder son Rohan played by Jim Sarbh. However, Rohan is already having an affair with a Muslim surgeon of Pakistani roots, Arfa Sayed played by Kriti Kharbanda.

more than the wedding everybody is waiting for Sunny to come home as he is a charmer and attracts everybody with his nature and energy. The house is soon filled with great energy and Sunny is the life of a party and also eases Arfa’s introduction with Rohan’s orthodox parents. After all the hugging and fun comes out the violent part of the story.

Taish means rage in Hindi and it has been released both in the form of a six-episode web series as well as a film. The revenge drama takes an extreme approach and the rage gets misplaced. The movie is stretched and pushed in various places. The actors dive into a beautiful lake when excited and start punching each other when angry which makes the movie overbearing.

The concept of anger management and how men are defined by their choices are relevant and timely but very predictable which can be depicted easily by anyone. The star cast of Taish is very good and the weather of London also adds charm to the movie but the content is full of melodrama and is weak.

Kriti Kharbanda, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Saloni Batra portray three different feminine roles in the movie. Sanjeeda Shaikh’s Jahaan is one of the most lovable characters of the movie whereas Saloni as Sanobar is both feisty and helpless when the situation demands and Kriti as Arfa is a peacemaker for the clan and love sucker.

Jim Sarbh is a misfit in the beginning as Rohan but he picks up in the second half. Pulkit Samrat tries to justify enraged Sunny as much as possible. He is good when he is mad but unconvincing when happy which is a major hindrance in his character. Harshvardhan Rane leaves a long-lasting impact in the role of a deadly gangster Pali. The exception in his character comes when he confronts Samrat which makes all the revengeful tendencies seem artificial.

Gaurav Godkhindi’s background music is great while the cinematography by Harshvir Oberai is outstanding. The execution and storytelling of the movie could have been tighter and a surprising climax would have made Taish review more interesting. Taish Movie Ratings though are not very encouraging but still, it is a one time watch for all. We have hereby compiled Taish ratings from various sources which can help you in deciding whether to watch the movie or not
