The erotic thriller queen returns with something which is neither thrilling nor erotic. Bipasha Basu gets a minimal area to rule over the latest MX web series Dangerous. She is Neha, a detective with the London Police Service whose latest case includes her ex-husband. He has a grand name according to his wealth Aditya Dhnaraj and a new wife who is an embarrassment for him.
Diya, played by Sonali Raut, takes drugs and cheats on her husband. She goes missing. A man with a hoarse voice says that he has kidnapped Diya. A huge ransom is demanded. Neha and her assistant played by Nitin Arora, blessed with excellent hairstyling and clothing allowance, step in to investigate the case.
Vikram Bhatt barebones screenplay, which is directed by Bhushan Patel, focuses more on telling what an ankle bracelet is rather than meeting out the story. The dialogue half of which has been written in English has been written in a flow.
Let’s play as if in a Hindi film and not try any English film stunts; the kidnapper tells Aditya. The lover of the kidnapper is dressed in dominatrix costume and hits the sheets obligingly for a customary and fully clothed lovemaking sequence. You are my Greek god, she says. So do we make love in Greek, he replies.
Dangerous was supposed to be a movie, but it has been split into seven-episode web series having 20 minutes timing in each episode. Was this implemented so that the second season could be made? The makers need to come with a very different follow-up in the case of the sequel because the first season has turned out to be very disappointing.
The pairing of real-life couple Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu has been one of the reasons for making Dangerous. Still, they are unable to bring out the thrill and excitement, which is very obvious, just like the identity of the real culprit.
