Sab Kushal Mangal Review starts with a local goon and politician Baba Bhandari played by Akshaye Khanna who organizes forceful marriage of grooms. He kidnaps a young TV journalist for one forced marriage but falls in love with the girl. The girl’s acceptance of Baba Bhandari forms the crux of the story.
Karnalaganj is a town where a local politician rules the public and earns his living by conducting forceful marriages. Sab Kushal Mangal tries to bring comedy in the plot which is not funny at all. Akshaye Khanna makes a heroic entry with long hairs and moustache which looks perfect to us. The very impressive actor tries to make his character work in this boring script but fails to do so.
Priyaank Sharma and Riva Kishan are newcomers who are very confident but
we do not find any chemistry between them. Priyaank is promising with
his brooding looks but he does not have the guts required for a good
journalist Pappu Mishra who unmasks all the wrongdoings on his show.
Riva Kishan is good as Mandira who is very intelligent but the character
has no say when it comes to making an important decision of her life
including marriage.
Seasoned actors like Satish Kaushik, Supriya Pathak Kapoor and Rakesh Bedi could have been used better in Sab Kushal Mangal. The first half is a little haphazard and the second half has a predictable conflict. Some of the scenes having Akshaye Khanna and his antics bring out laughter and the tone of the film becomes light on the whole.
The music is average and the songs have been shot well but are placed untimely. This makes the already long film a drag. The background music is very loud and unpleasant to the ears. The narrative of the film makes an attempt to underline social evils like forced marriages and dowry but does not succeed.
The execution has many missed opportunities to make it a good social satire and the writing is very weak which fails the film. The storyline is good. We have compiled Sab Kushal Mangal ratings from various sources for your convenience.
