Driven by the past success of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan teams up again for Karan Johar’s Gori Tere Pyaar Mein. There is no doubt that these 2 look good together on-screen but you can’t bank on this parameter alone for box office success. Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is an average flick with nothing new on the offering.
Imran Khan plays the character of a US return architect ‘Sriram Venkat’. He’s a spoiled child engaged in enjoying his youth. On the other hand, Kareena Kapoor Khan plays the character of Dia Sharma, a social worker devoted to reforms at various levels. Pre and post-interval offer 2 different kinds of story portrayal based on the romantic relationship of the lead pair. 2nd half of the movie, picturized in rural India is still better while the 1st half seems a repeat of I Hate Luv Storys.
The movie is better in parts but fails to keep the audience connected throughout. Direction by Punit Malhotra is decent though there was hardly anything in the script. Karen’s delivers a good performance as always while letting’s not speak much about Imran Khan.
Music is the only high point of the movie and helps a lot in the family crowd-pulling to the theatres.
