Ghoomketu Movie Review | Ghooomketu Movie Ratings by Film Critics

Ghoomketu played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui is an upcoming writer who flees from Mahona to Mumbai to try his luck within 30 days. The protagonist is dressed in colorful clothes and breaks the wall by conversing with the audience throughout. The film which revolves around an inspiring writer has very unimaginative writing.

It testifies the common notion that anyone can write. The web series is written and directed by Pushpendra Nath Misra and moves around three things that is a small towner’s naivety, life in Mumbai and his strange family in Mahona. None of the tracks are funny. The family is loud, life in Mumbai is dull and Nawaz tries to lift the boring source material but is unsuccessful.

The role is something which does not prove his worth as an actor which can be understood by the audience as well as the actor. There is no comedy punch worth remembering except for the self-deprecating fact which tells why Ghoomketu chose writing than acting. The hero’s family says with confidence that “Humare family mein hero banne layak face kisika nahi hai”.

The makers have tried their level best in creating a fantasy world of writer’s dreams which imitates Bollywood cliches. For doing that, you need smart writing. However, here you do not laugh at or with the story. You just want everything to get over soon.

There are special appearances in the movie by Ranveer Singh, Amitabh Bachchan and Sonakshi Sinha. They are good in their brief roles but they also cannot make most of the situation. The actors who stands out is Ila Arun. She gives meaning to this ultimate madness. Raghubir Yadav and Anurag Kashyap yell for no reason.

There are stories which demand suspension of disbelief but this one makes you forget humor and is very pushy. There is a line in the movie saying “Yeh comedy bohot katheen cheej hai, logon ko hasi bhi aani chahiye.” The makers sadly forget it themselves.

What do you think?
