Dhoom is undoubtedly the biggest movie sequel franchise in India. It’s a brand that sells of its own & doesn’t need huge budgets for promotion. Dhoom 3 retains the brand status & set unmatchable film-making standards. Cinematography, picturization, bike chase and action sequences are simply awesome & set new benchmarks for the Indian film industry. One can see a resemblance to Hollywood’s ‘Fast and the Furious’.
Despite being packaged as a tremendous entertainment product, Dhoom 3 disappoints with the flaws-ridden screenplay. To enjoy Dhoom 3 to the fullest, you have to leave logic behind otherwise it’s hard to digest. In fact, if there wasn’t any Aamir Khan, the movie would have totally sunken away. The entire movie is portrayed around Aamir’s character and as always, he delivers with utter perfection. The movie is based on the character of Sahir (Aamir Khan), who loosed his father (Jackie Shroff) in childhood. Sahir learns his father was murdered and as he grew up, the plots to rob the circus owners by sweeping away all their money kept in a Chicago bank. Aaliyah (Katrina Kaif) is a co-worker & helps Sahir. ACP Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and Ali Akbar (Uday Chopra) stands in the way of spoiling Sahir’s motive. The screenplay moves forward with various hit & chase drama and excellent stunts. Aamir Khan has always set new quality standards & because of the very same reason, Dhoom 3 will disappoint his fans. Aamir is such a big superstar than seeing him cast in an average screenplay invites over criticism. However, he put across another mind-blowing performance while experimenting with a differential cinema. Katrina looks absolutely stunning and one can pay anything to watch her moves in theatres. Abhishek Bachchan pulls off his very best and manages to hold screen presence despite the Aamir Khan factor. Uday Chopra adds the much-needed fun element in the movie as always.
