Black Widows Review is all about three women Veera played by Mona Singh, Jayati featuring Swastika Mukherjee and Kavita played by Shamita Shetty who are going through an abusive marriage and make a plan to kill their husbands. Will this step solve all their problems or bring more trouble in their lives is what forms the crux of the story.
On the other hand, Kavita’s husband Nilesh played by Vipul Roy treats her like some commodity and asks her to sleep with his friends and business clients to advance his career. Veera’s husband Jatin played by Sharad Kelkar warns to take away her daughter. When these three women realize that the things have gone out of hand they take everything in their own hands.
Similarly, if any of the spouses survives and tries to find out who planned the murder. It will be interesting to see whether the women will walk free or the truth will come to light. Black Widows web series by Zee5 is a remake of a Finnish drama Mustat Lesket. It has been filmed by Birsa Dasgupta and adapted by Radhika Anand.
There are two interesting subplots of the Black Widows web series. The first one shows a shrewd and strong entrepreneur Inaaya played by Raima Sen who owns a pharma company which manufactures a virus to double its income on vaccines. The other plot has Ramiz played by Shaheb Chattopadhyay who follows Veera for a bag of cash.
Swastika Mukherjee is the show stealer as an emotional and strong-headed Jayati. She perfectly depicts her pain through her expressions which makes the audience vouch for her. Mona Singh looks good on screen and portrays Veera convincingly as a mother who can go to greater lengths to protect her daughter. Shamita Shetty marks her acting comeback through this show and is perfectly cast in the role of an impulsive Kavita. Police officers Pankaj and Rinku featuring Parambrata Chatterjee and Shruti Vyas are perfect in every frame. Their investigating techniques and chemistry are humorous and immature.
Aamir Ali’s short appearance as Eddie brings up the fun factor of the series. Raima Sen as Inaaya Thakur plays a major role and brings in a lot of drama to the narrative which helps in pushing the story further.
