The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced nominations for International Emmy Awards in different categories and some Indian web shows have also been nominated for the trophy.
This is the 48th edition of the event and there are 44 nominees across 20 countries from 11 categories. Two Indian shows Four More Shots Please and Delhi Crime have been nominated for best comedy and drama respectively.
There are four nominations in each category from different countries. The shows which have been broadcasted from 1st January to 31st December 2019 were considered for the nominations. Delhi Crime has bagged the nomination for best drama category in the Emmy Awards. The show was directed by Richie Mehta, an Indo-Canadian filmmaker and had seven parts.
Delhi Crime is based on the retelling of a deadly gang rape of a woman in December 2012. Rajesh Tailang, Shefali Shah and Rasika Dugal were part of the show. Last year, three Indian series Remix, Lust Stories and The Sacred Games 2 were nominated in the International Emmy Awards.
