Kangana Ranaut-starer Manikarnika — The Queen Of Jhansi,a period drama has added a new gem to the cast by reportedly roping in Shweta Tripathi. Who shot to success after her outstanding performance in the critically acclaimed movie Masaan.
Now, the Times of India reports that Shweta will be seen as Kashibai the best friend and war companion to Rani Laxmibai’s (played by Kangana) in the movie.
The same reports state that as the actor is currently travelling, and all the paperwork is yet to be completed but it is believed that all the formalities will be done and signed once she back in Mumbai.
“Shweta will perform her own stunts like the other actors in the film. She will also have to undergo training in sword-fighting and horse-riding before she starts shooting with Kangana but her training will not be as intense as Kangana’s,” a source said, as quoted by the same report. Kangana who started preparing for the film a couple of months ago got herself hurt during the sword-fighting training.
According to the books in history, Kashibai accompanied Laxmibai to Jhansi after her marriage and later became an impeccable part of her army to fight against the British.
Directed by Manikarnika, this movie also stars, Suresh Oberoi, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, Ankita Lokhande, Atul Kulkarni, and Nihar Pandya among others. The movie is slated to release in April 2018.
