The Rajput community women have warned Sanjay Leela Bhansali. They said, “he would have to commit Jauhar(self-immolation) if the film ‘Padmaavat’ was released.

After hours of the press conference, the release of the film nationwide was concluded, the film which was banned by four states, including Rajasthan. The women of the community said they were firm on the decision for a ban on the film.

“We respect the Supreme Court order but we feel it’s one-sided. We will file a petition in court and also meet the President with our version on the matter,” said Hemendra Kumari, working committee member, Rajput Sabha. We are fighting for our dignity and our history,” said Prerna Shekhawat, Kshatriya Mahila Sangh president. “When Arvind Singh Ji of Udaipur has seen the film and rejected it, then why are the film-makers insisting on releasing it,” she asked.

Kumkum Singh Chittoda, working committee member of the Rajput Sabha said “Why is this film so important that it has to be released even after opposition? We will not accept any distortion of our history.”

Women have threatened to commit Jauhar in Chittor if the film will be released, Ramwati Kanwar said, “Why should 1800 women commit Jauhar? It is Bhansali who will have to commit Jauhar. Hum uski Chita Jalayenge”
