Lately, Akshay Kumar has been involving himself in films which have a social message. Pad man is another such film, which is based on a real-life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a rural Indian man who made low-cost sanitary napkins for unprivileged women of his village. Akshay is now taking further steps to this noble movie by holding an auction of the bicycle seen in the trailer. So that he can raise funds for an NGO working for menstrual hygiene.
Akshay and Twinkle chose this NGO to support their work for women’s right but also for their campaign on health and Sanitation facilities for females across India. Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter to share the details of the auction, he tweeted captioning, “Bid for this #Padman cycle featured in my movie on http://www.bidkartz.com and the proceedings go for supporting women empowerment to “Laadli – a girl child campaign by Population First.”
