Bollywood Express Grief On Kerala Plane Crash

Various bollywood artists expressed their condolences on social media platforms over the loss of lives in a tragic crash landing incident at Kozhod International Airport, Kerala. The actors condoled the demise of two pilots and passengers in the incident. 

Shah Rukh Khan wrote, “My heart goes out to the passengers and crew members onboard the #AirIndia flight. Deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones. Thoughts and prayers.”

Amitabh Bachchan also prayed for the families of the deceased and tweeted, “A terrible tragedy .. Air India crash in Kerala, Kozhikode airport, plane skids off the runway on landing in heavy rain .. Prayers.”

Kamal Hassan also tweeted about the incident and also appreciated medical and airport staff who helped in dealing with the tragedy swiftly. Hassan said, “Condolences to the families who lost their members in the Kozhikode crash. Best wishes to those recovering in Hospitals.” “Kudos to the citizens of Calicut and the under-equipped staff of the airport. More strength to the already overworked medical professionals of Kerala,” he further wrote

Shatrughan Sinha also grieved on the demise of two pilots who lost their lives while saving the passengers. “Very tragic to hear about the #CalicutAirCrash. We mourn the loss of Wing Cmdr.DVSathe & Akhilesh Kumar who died saving passengers,” he wrote. “Heartfelt condolences & strength to their families & those who lost their loved ones. Prayers & healings to the injured passengers. #CalicutAirCrash,” he further added.

The death toll in the incident went up to 18 including two pilots, Hardeep Singh Puri, Civil Aviation Minister said yesterday. There are two special relief flights that have been arranged from Delhi and Mumbai to give humanitarian assistance to all the passengers and the family members in a crash landing incident at Kozhikode.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Flight Safety Departments and Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) have also reached to investigate the incident.
