Actor Akshay Kumar announced a multi-player game named FAU-G – Fearless and United Guards on September 4, 2020, after PUBG mobile got banned in India with 117 other apps. It will support the Prime Minister’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat Movement.
Kumar wrote, “Supporting PM @narendramodi’s AtmaNirbhar movement, proud to present an action game, Fearless And United-Guards FAU-G. Besides entertainment, players will also learn about the sacrifices of our soldiers. 20% of the net revenue generated will be donated to @BharatKeVeer Trust #FAUG.“
The new alternative of PUBG game has been announced by nCore Games and it will be developed under Kumar’s mentorship. The game is said to be based on real scenarios faced by Indian security forces who deal with both foreign and domestic threats and it will be available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The Indian Government banned PUBG, an game for multiple players on September 2 and it has been removed from Apple App Store and Google Play Store. After an order from the Ministry of Information and Technology, 117 other apps from China have also been banned owing to security concerns.
In June, 59 apps including TikTok were banned and other 47 apps were removed in July. PUBG has 50 million players globally and 600 million downloads especially among the youth in India. PUBG gained around Rs. 9,731 crores in the first half of the year and the lifetime collection amounted to 22,457 crores with the highest number of downloads from India which is at the top with 175 million installs as many people were forced to stay at home owing to COVID 19 lockdown.
