Actor Akshay Kumar has raised his voice against the pregnant elephant who died after eating cracker filled pineapple in Kerala. He has demanded strict action against the culprits. The incident took place on May 27 where an elephant died after suffering an injury in her lower jaw.
The actor has said that this is the most heinous act done by humans and wrote, “Maybe animals are less wild and humans less human. What happened with that #elephants are heartbreaking, inhumane and unacceptable! Strict action should be taken against the culprits. #AllLivesMatter” (sic). He also posted the picture of the dead elephant along with the post.
The incident has happened in Kerala which boasts of 100 percent literacy rate. Apart from Akshay, Virat Kohli, Shraddha Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Malaika Arora, etc. have also expressed their shock and said that they were sad after knowing the incident.
The elephant was strolling in Silent Valley Forest in Kerala for food where a local fed her with cracker filled pineapple. She ate the food and it exploded in her mouth which left her wounded. Her jaw was broken and she could not chew anything. She stood in the river from getting relief from burns and died while standing still in the water.
