Aamir Khan and Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan have been trending on social media after their first meeting in Turkey for all the wrong reasons. Aamir Khan is trending on Twitter because nobody is happy about this meeting as Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s remarks about Kashmir during his address in Pakistan’s parliament did not go well with people.
Aamir will probably not reply to the trolling. He has taken Laal Singh Chaddha shooting to Turkey where he met the First Lady of Turkey and she shared the photo on her Twitter handle. Emine Erdogan called Aamir Khan as “the world-renowned Indian actor” and said that she is “looking forward” to watch the film.
She tweeted, “I had the great pleasure of meeting Aamir Khan, the world-renowned Indian actor, filmmaker, and director, in Istanbul. I was happy to learn that Aamir decided to wrap up the shooting of his latest movie Laal Singh Chaddha in different parts of Turkey. I look forward to it!”
When Aamir arrived to shoot the movie in Turkey earlier this month he was mobbed by a group of fans. Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha is the second film after Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom to shoot at an international location since film production was halted during lockdown. Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’s Forrest Gump and also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Aamir Khan has earlier discussed Forrest Gump as “I have always loved Forrest Gump as a script. It is a wonderful story about this character. It is a life affirming story. It is a feel good film. It is a film for the whole family.” The movie is directed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar fame. It will be released on Christmas 2021.
