Avatar 3, the much anticipated third installment, now has a title and is shaping up to be an intense experience. Titled Avatar: Fire and Ash, it is the follow-up picture to 2022’s Avatar: Way of Water. In the presence of main stars Zoe Saldaña and Sam Worthington, director James Cameron officially announced the title at Saturday’s D23 Expo in California.
Jack Champion, Edie Falco, Dileep Rao, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, and Britain Dalton are among the other cast members set to appear in Avatar 3. Cameron, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver’s Avatar: The Way of Water and Avatar: Fire and Ash were originally planned to be released as a single feature. In the end, though, James Cameron chose to split the plot into two parts because there was just too much material for a single film.
Ending its theatrical run with over $2,923,706,026 at the international box office, Avatar: The Way of Water was one of the biggest grossing films of 2022.
