Aashram Season 2 Review starts with where the first season was left off. We see that the Baba keeps on getting murkier every time and politicians becoming greedier. Some of the victims have come out of the Baba trap and want to take revenge. The era might end or begin which can be known only after watching the series.
Babita featuring Tridha Choudhury has completely changed and Pammi played by Aditi Pohankar’s life has also changed. Characters like Snaobar and Kavita who were silent in season one muster courage to tell their backstories. Ujagar Singh played by Darshan Kumaar is on a mission which is headed by Dr Natasha Kataria featuring Anupriya Goenka and Akki featuring Rajeev Siddhartha is not the one to bow down.
Bhopa inducing fear with his sharp tongue, Baba bringing havoc with his calm personality through his eyebrows and eyes and their chamchas abusing one and all. This time, however, the execution is different. The pace is slow and the background is explained in detail. The nine episodic series have 30 to 35 minutes duration and are much tighter than previous season although the story moves at a slow pace.
We know that destruction is around the corner but with clever writing having so many twists and turns we do not know who exactly is planning revenge and how. The systematic abuse of women and the means employed to avoid them for speaking out is something which needs to reach to all and Jha with his gang of writers make sure that this happens to the core.
The minor characters could have been featured without melodrama but you cannot portray a drug addict or religiously blind characters in a shallow manner. Chandan Roy Sanyal is a perfect henchman whom no one wants to encounter. The women in the show- Preeti Sood, Anurita Jha, Anupriya Goenka, Tridha Choudhury, and Aditi Pohankar give great performances especially the breakdown scenes of Aditi and Tridha’s encounters.
Darshan Kumaar is a total undercover junkie who is hungry for justice, Rajeev Siddhartha is angry as he has been wronged and delivers a much finer performance in season two. Adhyyan Suman is a troubled rockstar who is on a combined tour with Baba and is screaming and jumping around and does not come forward as an actor. Goenka’s Natasha takes a backseat when it comes to pushing the narrative forward but is a major player to bring the culprits down.
One scene when Baba goes to ghat for an event the lake is lit beautifully with diyas all over and garlands are all over bricks and walls and when Deol turns around and says Japnaam. The scene has been shot beautifully and it has fitted our minds permanently. Inder Bawra, Sunny Bawra and Advait Nemelkar’s background music is blendable but at times overdramatic.
Ashram 2 is all about revenge, rage and redemption and imparts a lesson that silence is not the answer to a problem. The second part of cult centred drama does not offer anything new in terms of plot progression but it is good to see all the dejected souls deriving peace in one form or another. In the end, we can say Japnaam to all by compiling Aashram Season 2 Ratings from various sources.
