Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor who was reported to be suffering from COVID-19 was discharged from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences on 6th April 2020 after her reports came negative. She needs to be in isolation for a few days as said by doctors. She was tested negative when tested fifth time on 4th April 2020 but she was kept under observation until tested further.
“Kanika Kapoor has been discharged on Monday after her two reports came negative. One of her reports came negative two days ago. On Sunday evening also her report was negative after which she was discharged,” as told by SGPGI director RK Dhiman to PTI.
She was tested positive on March 20 and was booked by Uttar Pradesh police for negligence and committing acts which can spread the disease further after she attended three gatherings in Lucknow which included a party where political leaders were present. The FIR was lodged after the complaint of Lucknow Chief Medical Officer.
She was the first celebrity to test positive for coronavirus. In a statement on Instagram which was later deleted by her, she told how she developed symptoms of the flu while returning from London. She says that she was not aware she had Corona until she was tested positive.
