Karan Johar is creating news these days. His production house, Dharma Productions, is in deep trouble. The director and his production house have been imposed with a fine of $150,000 lawsuit. The decision was taken in Philadelphia where the director shot one of his films in last autumn.
The director has been slapped with this fine for not paying the local actors, hundreds in number, who featured in his film. The local court sees it as a breach of contract. By the director’s production house and its business associate Swish Films of Melbourne, which co-produced the film ‘Jihaad’ or ‘KP-15’.
The lawsuit also demands expenses for other 25 vendors, who were there in a film starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. It is to be noted that Dharma Productions changed its banner name to Karma Productions for the shooting of the film ‘Jihaad.’
